Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is BIG TRUCK?

BIG TRUCK is your go-to-source for finding local micro-moving and instant delivery help! We connect you with our network of independent PICKUP Truck owners (called DP's - Delivery Pros), to help move large, heavy and bulky item(s). With years of moving experience behind our guys, our passion for what we do continues to grow. Our goal is to provide each client with a wonderful experience, reliable service, and quality results.

Who will be moving/delivering my items?

BIG TRUCK utilizes a very small group of background checked and vetted independent contractors (called DP's - Delivery Pros) to carry out each move/delivery. Our group of guys are very experienced and well trained in the industry. Its kind of like a small family. We are a friendly, local, small oriented business.

What is a Micro-Move?

BIG TRUCK recognized a gap between the big box/large scale moving companies with huge box trucks/moving trucks & individuals that only need to move 1 couch, or just maybe a few item(s). We understand that all moves are not BIG moves. Sometimes you just need a little extra help. Micro Moves allow you to get your things from point A to B (in some cases, within the same day). We worked to fill that gap and provide a service to cater to these individuals often times for way less!

What kind of equipment does BIG TRUCK use?

Because we are a micro-move service, we don't show up in a 26 ft moving trucks (we leave that to the BIG Moving Companies that Charge BIG Move Prices!). We use an enclosed 7x18 trailer. We also use all the standard moving equipment needed to successfully carry out each task to include: movers dollies, hand trucks/carts, ratchet straps, tarps, bungee cords, large movers blankets, moving bands, stretch wrap, safe lifting equipment (shoulder dolly, forearms forklift, etc...).

Can you move ANYTHING and EVERYTHING?

No, not quite. Our weight limit is approximately 300 lbs (give or take a few...) Items we cannot move or deliver include, but are not limited to: hazardous materials, firearms/ammo, other explosives, slate pool tables (walmart type boxed pool tables ok), concrete fountains, livestock/animals, jewlery, gold, cash/coins, spas, gun safes, pianos, organs, jukeboxes, ubox containers, kegs. We do move fitness equipment (treadmills, ellipticals) and BBQ grills up to an approximate 300 lb limit. We will send you our Disclaimer form that details what we can and cannot move when setting you up!

How much does it all cost?

We like using a no haggle, no nonsense approach to billing. There's a few options on the menu but it all really boils down to one simple price. No hidden fees, we like to be 100% transparent. Certain customers just need to hire 1 of our guys and is willing to assist with the move. Other customers most often hire 2 of our Pros. You can also add our 7 x 18 enclosed cargo trailer to your order for one low flat rate. We offer the option to hire between 1,2 or 3 movers. There's a small flat fee for flights of stairs and for moves/deliveries outside of our coverage map. Please see our "Services/Pricing" page for detailed pricing info.

How can I pay?

We currently accept: Cash, Credit cards/Debit cards (chip and swipe), Paypal, Zelle, Venmo and CashApp.

Am I supposed to TIP my Delivery Pros?

You as a customer are never obligated to TIP, but if you were impressed with the service, agree that our guys were polite, professional, handled your move swiftly and with great care, then a 15-20% TIP of the invoice total is recommended.

How do I communicate with my Delivery Pros?

Our lead Delivery Pro will reach out to you by phone/text up to a few hours before your scheduled move starts just to let you know they are on their way and to ask if there are any gate codes or special access instructions. If you need to ask us a question or make any scheduling changes, all you have to do is communicate that to use by phone/text or email! Our office # is 210-363-5741 and our email is bigtrucksa@gmail.com. If you originally communicated to us thru Thumbtack, you can also message us there!

Do Delivery Pros offer packing services?

We currently DO NOT provide packing services. We ask that you have your items already boxed and properly taped up ready for us to load N' go. We urge our customers to skip the tape and flimsy cardboard and rent easy to use strong durable plastic boxes from a service like brokobox.com or rentagreenbox.com. Also, please have all dressers, nightstands and related items 100% emptied before our arrival.

Do Delivery Pros disassemble and assemble furniture items?

Our Delivery Pros carry common tools like screwdrivers, small drills, pliers, wrench, allen key sets, etc. We are able to disassemble and re-assemble bed frames, couch legs, connect/disconnect washer/dryer, refrigerators etc. Simple disassemblies/re-assemblies are included.

Do Delivery Pros wrap items?

We do place our blankets on items you wish to be blanketed and run a tight strand of shrink wrap or moving bands around each item. Our 2 man crew will generally have at least 12 blankets to use for your micro-move. Otherwise, we can shrink wrap items directly without a blanket to aid in protection. Customers can also provide their own blankets and we can use our wrap/moving bands to secure blankets to items for ultimate protection.

What are "flex time" windows?

In an effort to stay on time with all customers throughout each given day and try not to snowball late into other customers jobs after yours, we adhere to "two-hour start windows". This is why we are unable to offer exact dedicated start times. We start as early as 7 a.m. and if you are the first job of the day, we would elect for a 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. "start window". Some customers may elect for a later start window, like 12 noon to 2 p.m. This is the time window in which our Delivery Pros/Movers would show up to start your job.

What if an item is too long/bulky and wont fit thru a doorway?

We have done 100's of jobs and this has only happened maybe two or three times. We will use our best known techniques to get your item thru the door, but sometimes it just will not fit! We ask customers to do proper measurements of items that are very long or bulky before having them moved. If this happens, we can either leave the item outside the door, in a garage or return it to the location it was picked up from for an additional fee.
